ILM excursion: Islamic Museum and Preston Mosque

15 November 2022

Our Ilm Program students in Years 8 to 11 visited the Islamic Museum of Australia (IMA) and Preston Mosque with their esteemed teachers Sheikh Waseem, Ust. Owais and Ust. Hafsa.

Students gained additional knowledge at the IMA by exploring the history of Islam and how our faith arrived in and was spread in Australia. It was a great exposure for students to step out and learn about our deen in a different environment.

Our students then visited the beautiful and only recently fully renovated Preston Mosque where they were given the opportunity to pray Salat Ul Duha and Tahiyyat Ul Masjid. Alhamdulillah.

The Ilm students also enjoyed lunch at Salam Cafe at Preston Mosque and purchased some great books and Miswak from the Islamic bookstore. Maa Shaa Allah. During the journey, we also learnt a lot from the experiences and moral stories of Sheikh Waseem.

What a great experience for our Ilm students, increasing them in knowledge. Students gave the following feedback: "We had a great time today and learnt a lot. Alhamdulillah."
