Al Siraat’s Years 7 to 10 girls participated in the Sporting Schools Victoria Futsal Competition at the Coburg Basketball Stadium on Monday, 13 August 2018.
The Year 7 and 8 team participated in their own competition versing Islamic and government schools from all around the Moreland Division. The Year 9 and 10s were a combined team who came 3rd on the ladder. Unfortunately, our Year 7 team came last on the ladder. However, this was a drive for them to improve for next year’s competition.
The Year 8 girls team, however, were runners up against Pasco Vale Girls. Coming in second and securing a spot in October in the final competition. The girls were presented with a Runners Up banner and ribbons, they were very excited. Which once again highlights how important it is for young females to participate in sport. An amazing effort by the girls on the day.
A great effort from Sadiqah Fatimah from Year 8G2 who was Team Captain once again, leading our Year 8 girls team to Victory! MashaAllah.
